Low Car Diet is organised by Stichting de Reisbeweging

Urgenda organised the Low Car Diet for the first time in 2012. Since then it has become the biggest mobility competition in the Netherlands. The Low Car Diet became part of its own, independent foundation in January 2017; Stichting de Reisbeweging.

Since February 2021, Stichting de Reisbeweging has been organising the Frisse neus challenge ('fresh air challenge').

Low Car Diet supports behaviour change in the field of commuting.

About us

Background

Stichting de Reisbeweging focuses on sustainability, accessibility and liveability, both in the Netherlands and international. The Stichting has a vison to make mobility sustainable by causing behavioural change for a more liveable world, better travel options and smart mobility choices.

Behaviour change, especially for mobility, has to come from individuals themselves. They have to experience it. Stichting de Reisbeweging is the specialist to help individuals, organisations and governments. De Reisbeweging accomplishes a change in mobility by starting or co-initiating projects, investigating and influencing policy.
